About

From Matthew Wright, your Guide to Auto Repair

I can't tell you how elated I am that we are now planted firmly in the Spring part of the driving season. For a large part of the country, this winter was long, too long. Now we're itching to get our vehicles out of winter storage and out onto the open road. We're swapping out our seasonal tires and waxing our paint. Be sure your car is ready for warm weather driving before you hit the pavement.  Enjoy the season!

About

From William Perez, your Guide to Taxes
It's been one week since the April 15th deadline, and truth be told, most of the tax world is still recovering. In this week's newsletter, I discuss proposed changes to employee benefits in Dave Camp's Tax Reform Act, plus some tips for filing a tax return after the deadline. One news item that I completely overlooked in the deadline rush: the President's and Vice President released their 2013 tax returns. The rest of the links are all non-tax related -- because we all deserve a little non-taxable activity every so often.

Tax Reform Act of 2014, Part 5, Employee Benefits

What's "MyRA"?
One of the things I kept hearing during tax season what about MyRA, a new type of IRA suggested by the President in his state of the union speech. While it doesn't exist yet, it might soon. MyRA is a Roth-like retirement account invested in a Treasury bond fund. Melissa Phipps (About Retirement Planning) has more details.
