It's been one week since the April 15th deadline, and truth be told, most of the tax world is still recovering. In this week's newsletter, I discuss proposed changes to employee benefits in Dave Camp's Tax Reform Act, plus some tips for filing a tax return after the deadline. One news item that I completely overlooked in the deadline rush: the President's and Vice President released their 2013 tax returns. The rest of the links are all non-tax related -- because we all deserve a little non-taxable activity every so often.

Obama, Biden Release their 2013 Tax Returns
President Obama and Vice President Biden released their personal tax returns on April 11th. I provide a brief synopsis along with a link where you can download the tax returns.


What's "MyRA"?
One of the things I kept hearing during tax season what about MyRA, a new type of IRA suggested by the President in his state of the union speech. While it doesn't exist yet, it might soon. MyRA is a Roth-like retirement account invested in a Treasury bond fund. Melissa Phipps (About Retirement Planning) has more details.
